Peace Action

WOULD YOU LIKE A PIECE OF A PEACE?

Who is the enemy?

When I was a little girl I realized that the education system in Egypt is really bad like really ruined, and everyone in the country was talking about how bad the education in schools is. I wanted to ask one question why can’t we just imitate why can’t we find a good reliable education system in the world and apply it in our schools since we “obviously” can’t find one ourselves??? But no one ever answered this question but I figured that probably because our government is so stupid and could not realize something like that.

As time passed by, I had a really weird conclusion and day after day this conclusion seemed to me really true.
I believe that our government is really intelligent and that is one hell of a plan to ruin the education.

Imagine you ruin the education of an entire country see how many generations you can control like puppets no one will object because you already educated them there is no such thing as objection.

To give you an example of what happens in our schools if you thought of some really intelligent way to solve a mathematical problem and that is different than the one explained by your teacher you will be answered by a huge mocking laugh and a teacher telling you ok since you are so smart why don’t you just take my place and explain the lesson.

So in the end after almost 12 years of school education you gain a coward ignorant insecure unconfident graduate person who is in his way to college.

The system is our enemy and a very sneaky one that is not affecting you directly and this is really interesting because you might live your whole life without realizing that. This enemy found his perfect strategy by going directly to the education the most important part of our life; they went straight to the heart of the country and killed it.

Egypt

Bridge Please

Location: Riga, Latvia

Problem: Corruption

For intro, Latvia is a country in Europe, part of Baltic states, and its lead by few interested rich people, so you can call this country as a business for some guys. As you know, each country has a budget, but in Latvia, interested groups divides it for their pockets, and here is the best example how they manage it.

Riga, Latvia’s capital, separated by a river called Daugava. Somehow the government thought that we need another bridge, that crosses the river. So they got some money from EU and rest of money (of course) came from taxes. Everyone was so happy, like, hell yeah we’ll get a new bridge, no more traffic jams. But here is the real thing – actually, the bridge “project” was made to get money from EU, and to legally get money from tax payers. So here is how the scheme works: interested groups suggests to build a bridge; they promote the idea, so people thinks, that we need it; money arrives from taxes and EU; money goes to companies which builds the bridge, and companies are connected to people who are really leading the project ; at the end, we have a shitty bridge, with 3 years (wtf) warranty and almost no car on it. Conclusion – poor people gets nothing, rich people comes more richer. Also this is just a one project of hundreds, how money is stolen from tax payers and poor people as well.

Here are some facts:

  • Bridge expenses: 714 millions EUR
  • Unofficial money stolen: 250 millions EUR
  • Traffic: 10% of 4 bridges – supposed to be 20 at the beginning of project
  • Expenses per 1 m2 – 1700 EUR.

We call it as “Probably the most expensive bridge in the world”
